Breakout Rooms | 1 per group |
# of Moderators | 1 (IA or Instructor) |
Instructions
Playing in Teams:
- Have the moderator share a category and a letter to the full group. This site can help you generate ideas for categories!
- Give scholars a few minutes in breakout rooms to write down as many words as they can that fit the category and start with the given letter.
- Once the rooms are closed, give each team a chance to share their list of words. If any of the words are also on another team’s list, that word should be crossed out from both lists!
- After all teams have shared, each group should count the remaining words on their list. Whoever has the most words left wins!
Playing Individually:
- Head to really.boring.website and create a game room for scholars to join (max 24 players).
- Scholars will be given a letter and a list of categories. For each category, they must think of a word that starts with the given letter.
- After everyone has submitted their words, each category is reviewed one at a time.
- The word that everyone submitted for that category is displayed.
- Scholars can vote for whether each word fits the category or not; if more people vote no, then it is not counted for a point.
- If the word fits the category and was unique (aka, only one person submitted that word), then that player gets a point!
- The person with the most points wins!
